Our Faery Wingding Magical Lineup

Alice Strange

'Blessed with the natural stage presence of Siouxsie Sioux, the vocal command of Björk and the dark phrasing of Concrete Blonde’s Johnette Napolitano, [Alice] is a rare and singular talent.' - LOUDERTHANWAR

Formerly Alice's Night Circus, Alice Strange is classically trained and started her journey in classical music before venturing into her own style of music which encompasses influences from a wide range of musical genres and literature. She now performs her own original songs.

Alice started singing professionally in her late teens whilst running her own business as a designer of fashion and jewellery. It was however following a meeting with Eliot Kennedy – Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer - that she ventured into Steelwork Studios to “find” her own sound through the writing of her own songs.

Alice released her first album called Metamorphose, it was a curious journey down a musical rabbit hole, featuring a blend of apocalyptic fairy-tale Steampop with a touch of the circus but discovered along the way that there were more sounds and styles she wanted to explore and to allow a broader thematic scope changed her name to Alice Strange.

‘From day one I realised we were working with a real artist in [Alice]. Not only a designer of fashion and jewellery but also a real visionary regarding her music. It was a fab project to be a part of and I am really proud of what we have done together. I wish every success possible!!!' - Eliot Kennedy - Songwriter / Producer

Alice has had M.E./Fibro since the age of 17 and the life experiences this has brought her have strongly influenced her music, which concentrates on the positive outcomes that can be achieved by overcoming a range of lifes difficulties.

She is a very popular artist within the Steampunk, Fantasy and Faery communities and is also developing her fan base into the greater population, having performed at Fantasy Forest, Zandari Festa Music Festival in Seoul, South Korea, Liverpool Sound City, Lincoln Engine Shed, Lincoln Castle, Whitby Pavilion and the Legendary Llangollen Faery Festival.

Headlining Band The Dolmen
The Dolmen are a relentless organic Celtic rock band born from the county of Dorset, England. Their mission has been to infiltrate the minds and souls of a growing audience with their tribal rhythms and powerful spiritual renditions.

The Dolmen was founded by prolific song writer & lead singer, Taloch Jameson and after a few changes over the years, the current line up has been solid since 2010 when drummer, Chris Harris, joined to complete the experience. Josh Elliott, lead guitarist, joined The Dolmen family in 2009 and Kayleigh Marchant, bass guitar & vocals, became a member in 2008. After breaking into Europe The Dolmen then found Anja Novotny, flutes & keyboard, in 2015.

Their album ‘NUADA’ released in 2016 is emblematic of their success, and testament to the band's artistic evolution and enthusiasm, described by Van Muylem of SNOOZECONTROL “as an exceptional trip”. The release of ‘NUADA’ has also found The Dolmen nominated in the ‘Bastaard Fantasy Awards’ for best album internationally and nominated best live act internationally, of which they won in both categories.

Connach
Connach is a british cult rock band based in Dorset.
The members of the band are;
Connach Jameson, guitarist, singer songwriter and
Lena M Paak, bassist and vocals.
The young blood of the band conjures energy for the revival of classic powerful music with their own original songs.

Welcome the children of the sun and moon and embrace the wind of change.
The band Connach is the incarnation of a storm that will awaken the soul.

Davey Dodds
Described by Fantasy Forest Festival as “The Master of Celtic rock'n'reel”, Davey Dodds fronts a startlingly good live band. The music is Celtic, psychedelic, Pagan and life-affirming- they will set your feet dancing!
Davey is a songwriter of some renown. His classic, 'The Magpie', was recorded by The Unthanks, used on The Detectorists on BBC2 and broadcast from The Proms in 2018. The same song was covered by David Gilmour in 2020.

A recent review described the band members as “Forces of nature”. Davey himself provides the lead vocals and plays electric and acoustic octave mandolins. Gillie Hotson flies her electric violin, Daniel Billing drives the music with his bass and David Clifford powers the band with his drums.

Davey has an interesting history. In 1994, his old band, Red Jasper headlined The European Symphonic Rock Festival. Shortly afterwards, SI Music, the Dutch record label the band was signed to, went bust. Davey went off to live on a different planet and worked as a fly-fishing guide in remote, wilderness locations. People and events prodded him back into playing and writing in 2017. Three albums later – he's having a blast! The adventure continues.....

Chosen Fundraising Chairty is High Hopes Dog Rescue

Because our hearts are big.

High Hopes

https://www.facebook.com/highhopesdogrescue/

High Hopes Dog Rescue was founded on the 9th August 2018 by me - Samantha Watson. Having worked alongside rescue dogs for 4 years, reaching my 40th Birthday and taking a trip to Romania in the summer of 2018 I decided that I wanted to do more to help.
Seeing with my own eyes the horrors of one of Romania’s many public ‘Kill’ shelters broke me like nothing else has before in my lifetime and I couldn’t walk away and do nothing. The look in the dogs eyes in that shelter will haunt me forever.
The rescue is run between myself and Tara Carr whom I have known and been great friends with for over 20 years. We trust each other and both have a lot of experience with dogs and the running of a rescue.
Together we have been able to rescue many dogs in need already. We are currently working towards gaining ‘Charity Status’, which will enable us to do so much more to help - this requires us to raise £5,000, on top of the money we raise to help each individual dog. We truly appreciate all donations and offers of support and everything we do is for the love and well being of these that need our help.

Where we rescue dogs from

Working as an International rescue, we help dogs from Romania who have been rescued by a lady called Cristina Blaj. We also work with a Portuguese rescue called Mayday.
All of the dogs we rescue from overseas are vaccinated, microchipped, flea’d and wormed. Subject to age they are neutered too. Our focus is making sure the dogs are healthy and able to travel, and then they can begin their journey to a better life and a loving home.

A dog in need is a dog we want to help, wherever they are from - we don’t discriminate. We have rescued several dogs from within the UK already, however, we regularly come across barriers to do this because we have not yet been up and running for 12 months and don’t yet have ‘Charity Status’.
Not to be deterred, we have been focusing a lot of our efforts on rescuing dogs from abroad, which are often in dire situations and bound for euthanasia. There are so many dogs across the World that deserve a better life and we’re here solely for that purpose.
